2009 MURATA MURATEC MD 120

Description
The MURATEC MD 120 is a high-productivity twin-spindle CNC turning center designed for automated machining and high-volume precision part production. Manufactured in 2009 and maintained in good working condition, this machine provides an efficient solution for manufacturers seeking increased throughput, reduced cycle times, and reliable automated operation.
Murata Machinery (Muratec) is globally recognized for developing compact, automation-focused CNC turning solutions widely used in automotive, precision engineering, electronics, and mass production environments. The MD 120 combines Japanese engineering reliability with advanced automation capabilities, enabling continuous production with minimal operator intervention.
Equipped with the industry-proven Fanuc FS31i – Model A CNC control, the machine ensures stable programming, high accuracy, and seamless integration into automated production lines.
The twin-spindle configuration with a 340 mm spindle distance allows simultaneous machining and fast part transfer between spindles, eliminating secondary operations and significantly improving productivity. With a maximum turning diameter of Ø 120 mm and a turning length of 75 mm, the machine is ideally suited for high-volume production of flanges, bushings, fittings, and precision mechanical components.
Both spindles operate within a speed range of 45–4,500 rpm, powered by 11 kW motors, providing an optimal balance between torque and speed for both roughing and finishing operations. Axis travels of 130 mm (X-axis) and 145 mm (Z-axis) combined with rapid feeds up to 24 m/min ensure fast cycle times and improved machining efficiency.
The machine features two 10-station live tool turrets, enabling simultaneous machining processes and increased operational flexibility. Two integrated loading stations automate part handling, improving production continuity and reducing manual intervention.
The loading system includes X-axis travels of 200 mm (left) and 1,600 mm (right), a 550 mm Y-axis, and 155 mm Z-axis travel, ensuring precise and efficient part transfer throughout the automated cycle.
With a machine weight of approximately 4,500 kg and equipped with a chip conveyor, the MURATEC MD 120 twin-spindle CNC lathe provides structural stability and efficient chip management during intensive production runs.
This used twin-spindle CNC turning center represents a strategic investment for manufacturers aiming to increase automation, productivity, and machining efficiency in high-volume turning applications.
